How your gift helps us

Donations help us fund specific developments and conservation projects across the Old Royal Naval College, as well as our arts and heritage learning programme.

For example:

  • We need £75 to conserve one square foot of Sir James Thornhill's unique wall paintings in the Painted Hall.
  • Just £9 helps us give a child a hands-on, inspiring and enjoyable learning experience.
  • We have over 17,000 square metres of historic roofs in our care. Keeping them in good condition will cost around £140,000 per year over the next ten years.

These projects depend upon the generosity of our donors, who are a broad mix of public and private funders, including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Heritage Lottery Fund, trusts, foundations, companies and individuals.
