18th Century Surgery In the 18th Century, surgery was a painful and unpleasant process. Come and meet Mr King, a surgeon from this fascinating period in our history, in the old Skittle Alley beneath the twin domes of the Old Royal Naval College. In this free event, learn how surgery was carried out in a time without anaesthetics, antiseptics or even basic hygiene. Warning, not for the squeamish! Talks will be at 11:30, 12:30, and 14:00. This event occurs at the same time as our Victorian Skittle Alley is open, so why not have a game whilst you're down there?
