The Blackheath Art Society was launched in 1947 with Graham Sutherland as first President, and a group of distinguished artists and educators with links to Goldsmiths’ College, Camberwell School of Art and the Royal Academy.

Many of the members who today work as artists or designers and in art education have studied at these colleges and at other prestigious art institutions both in the UK and abroad.

The Blackheath Art Society are pleased to be holding their annual free exhibition at the Old Royal Naval College, where it will also possible to purchase some of the artworks on display.

This long established group of local artists has been joined this year by a fair number of new members, which has enhanced and extended the range of work available to see.
