The Old Royal Naval College in collaboration with DBR Conservation invite you to a presentation on gilding, with an overview of its history from the earliest practices in Ancient Egypt to today’s competitive trade, and an interactive demonstration using the various tools and techniques.

Gilding, or applying thin leaves of gold to adorn and beautify objects, buildings, and paintings can be found in nearly every part of the world and in all of the major religions. We will also look into the physics of gold's glitter and its other intriguing properties, and discuss why we adore it. Refreshments will be served.

To RSVP, or for further information about joining the ORNC Patrons or Angels, please contact or 020 8269 4742.
