On Trafalgar Day we are running Nelson-themed tours exploring his pivotal role in the Battle of Trafalgar and his links to the Old Royal Naval College.

Trafalgar Day is the annual celebration of the victory won by the Royal Navy, commanded by Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, over the combined French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. This year we are marking the occasion by running free Nelson-themed tours.

Cost: 

  • Tours are included in the price of a Painted Hall ticket for 21 October. General entry tickets cost £11 online. Book tickets.
  • Tours are free for serving Royal Navy personnel, Painted Hall annual pass-holders, Angels and Patrons. Find out about our concessions.

How to book:

  • The tours are included in your Painted Hall ticket. If you do not already hold a Painted Hall ticket, please book for 21 October here.
  • The tours are drop-in, no need to pre-book onto a tour. Meet in the King William Undercroft at one of the three start times above. Please arrive ten minutes before the start time. 20 people max per tour.

The Old Royal Naval College welcomes visitors with disabilities, their families, friends and carers to Sir Christopher Wren’s riverside masterpiece. If you have any access requirements please get in touch. Please note that, for wheelchair users, access to the Upper Hall and the Nelson Room is via a Stairmate stairclimber.  We regret that only one wheelchair user at a time can go on these tours owing to evacuation safety considerations
