An image has been released of scenes from the forthcoming Muppets Most Wanted which were shot on location in The Old Royal Naval College (ORNC), Greenwich last year. Miss Piggy and Kermit along with Gonzo, Floyd, Walter and Scooter are seen in front of the celebrated Painted Hall. However, although shot on location in London, these scenes are set in Berlin in the Muppets’ international crime caper.

Disney's Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theatres in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin (the ORNC), Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre

Muppets Most Wanted is the first of two movies due for release in the coming months which see the celebrated Thames-side venue substituting for Berlin. Scenes in Guy Ritchies’ The Man from U.N.C.L.E. also see the ORNC serving as the German city, this time during the Cold War.

One of the reasons why the ORNC has proved so popular with film location managers is its great flexibility. Whether looking to film an 18th century London streetscape, the Paris barricades, an intergalactic battle or 1960s Berlin the Old Royal Naval College fits the bill.

Muppets Most Wanted is in cinemas in the UK from 21 March 2014. The Man from U.N.C.L.E will be released in early 2015.
