The ORNC is delighted to be hosting The Invicta Primary School Pop-Up Museum!

The pop-up museum will take place in the Discover Greenwich Exhibition Gallery and Clore Learning Centre, from 23 – 29 November. The displays in the museum will be designed, installed, and looked after by the children and teachers, and each year group will be curating a display based on their autumn term history topics.

On each day of the museum, children and teachers will be on site to show members of the public what they have created, and hopefully many of their parents will visit over the weekend. For last years’ museum in their school hall, they took inspiration from their visits to the ORNC by having opportunities to dress up, interactive exhibits using iPads, make-and-take activities, and even a little café!

This year’s pop-up museum has developed through work the Learning Team have been conducting with Invicta for many years, including special projects developed in collaboration with the teachers. Some of their teachers did work experience with our learning team as part of their teacher training, and other teachers have been visiting the ORNC for years with their classes. Last summer term we were approached by Invicta to begin building a partnership with them, and this pop-up museum is the first step into developing that partnership.
