The Old Royal Naval College has received a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence award for a second year running!

The award honours excellence in hospitality and is given to establishments that receive consistently positive reviews on

The ORNC appears in the top 100 things to do in London and has been described as ‘superb’ and ‘beautiful’ by a number of visitors on the website. Marc Charron, President of Tripadvisor for business said “The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers.”

Old Royal Naval College Visitor Experience Manager, Lucy Miles Said “We are thrilled to have received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running. We are always pleased to hear the independent feedback visitors give us through Tripadvisor and learn what they have enjoyed about their visit as well as giving us insight in to how we can make their future visits even better.”

Visitors on have particularly referenced Thornhill’s masterpiece – the Painted Hall which underwent conservation work on the West Wall and Upper Hall ceiling in 2013 and is now embarking upon Phase II to conserve the remaining 40,000 square feet of wall and ceiling paintings in the Lower Hall and vestibule.
