The Old Royal Naval College are overjoyed to announce that the Painted Hall Project has been shortlisted for the Restoration or Conservation Project of the Year Award!

This comes at an exciting time as we prepare to reopen the Painted Hall to the general public after two and a half years of the Painted Hall’s painstaking conservation project, which saw over 40,000 square foot of Sir James Thornhill’s magnificent painting being carefully cleaned and restored to its former glory.

We are very thankful to all our supporters throughout the project, including the National Lottery Heritage Fund, who’s 3.1 million grant helped make the project possible.

All winners in the 14 categories will be announced at The Museums & Heritage Awards Ceremony 2019, which will take place on Wednesday 15th May at a glamorous venue in Northumberland Avenue. This is a great achievement for the Conservation team in recognition of their work. We look forward to the announcement in May.
