The Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College announces that Angela McConville will be stepping down as Chief Executive, effective immediately.

Angela has been Chief Executive for nearly two years during which time the conservation of the Painted Hall and King William Undercroft have been completed and both have re-opened to considerable acclaim. Matthew Mees, currently Finance Director of the Greenwich Foundation, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive with effect from the 14 October until a permanent appointment is made.

In thanking Angela, Tony Hales Chair of Trustees said, “Angela brought her formidable energy and drive to Greenwich in a period of transformative change. The Trustees thank Angela and wish her well in her future career. Matthew has a new set of challenges and has our full support as he picks up the reins.”

In writing to the Foundation Angela said, “It has been a great privilege to lead the work of the Greenwich Foundation over the last two years and to have had the opportunity to work on such an incredible project as part of such a talented dedicated team. I’m now taking the opportunity to spend some quality time with my young family and I wish the Foundation every success in the future”.
