Greenwich Winter Time Festival

A new, unique and contemporary festival for all ages, Greenwich Winter Time Festival runs from 1 December to 31 December and boasts a bespoke ice rink, a special Winter Market, artisan food and a magical Father Christmas experience. There is also an array of spectacular entertainment, which includes street performers, live music, theatre, and children shows.

Painted Hall Ceiling Tours

Delve deeper into the stories of the Painted Hall on one of our exciting ceiling tours. The once in a life time experience runs until September 2018 and takes place daily. Tours give visitors the opportunity to see the Painted Hall from a unique perspective by getting within feet of the ceiling. To enhance the experience, guests are shown around by an expert tour guide who explains the marvels of the painting.

James Thornhill: Painter and Decorator

On 5 December, University of York Lecturer Richard Johns will lead an exciting lecture on James Thornhill, the final instalment in our Autumn Lecture Series. Get an exclusive insight into J. Thornhill, the mastermind behind the art of the Painted Hall.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with an opportunity to view Thornhill’s masterpiece up close on the observation deck before the talk begins at 7pm.

Cost: £15, £12 concessions (students, seniors (60+), unemployed)

Messiah

Led by conductor Ralph Allwood, the Old Royal Naval College Trinity Laban Chapel Choir will put on a special performance of Handel's Messiah, a popular musical composition composed in 1742.

The performance will take place on 16th December. Show time is at 7pm.
