The post holder will be available for occasional weekend, bank holiday and evening working to suit the seven day operation of our site. Place of Work: Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who will support our work with volunteers as we diversify our team. The successful candidate will gain team work and project management skills, gaining practical hands on experience of managing a volunteer programme. The Old Royal Naval College is located within the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site and currently has over 150 volunteers supporting our work. We are currently coming to the completion of a 2 year transformational project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, focusing on the conservation of the Painted Hall. This has been one of the most ambitious conservation projects of a painted historic interior ever undertaken. The Old Royal Naval College now wants to concentrate on developing new roles for this amazing team of people as we work towards the reopening of the Painted Hall in January 2019. The Volunteer Development Intern will work with our Volunteer Manager and wider public engagement team to develop new volunteer opportunities as well as updating volunteering pages of our web site and developing a social media strategy around volunteering. The Volunteer Development Intern is based in the Public Engagement Department which also includes the Learning, Community, Interpretation and Visitor Experience teams.
